Tim Russert of Meet the Press recently passed away. It is suspected that he died from a heart attack. I would watch his show, he always had enlightened political discussion and he asked the politicians the hard questions. He will be missed, please keep his family in your prayers.

This is pretty sad news for me. Most of my Sunday mornings for the past few years have been spent watching Russert on Meet the Press. I always enjoyed the tenacity with which he grilled candidates and other political figures, as well as the discussion panels he assembled to talk about the issues.

Thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. He will no doubt be missed.

You know someone is a great man when they pass and you can only say “he was a great man” instead of “he was a great man, BUT”.

I agree with the above comment. When you went on his show – you better know EXACTLY what you said and what you meant by it – because he was going to put up word for word the statements you made.

Also, I’m a firm believer in “you have to know where you came from to know where you are going”. Russert never let go of his roots. He knew exactly who he was, the son of a garbage man who grew up in Buffalo, NY.

If you haven’t read his book Big Russ and Me – its a MUST. One of the best books I’ve ever read.
